Hey, we’re Divya & Alwin!
Like many Indian homegrown brands, ours started with a simple desire to do better for our four cats at home and the community cats we care for daily.
While we loved seeing more international brands enter India, we kept running into the same frustration every time we browsed online or walked into a store. All the exciting products we saw on social media, especially high quality treats and toppers, simply weren’t available in India. Most options in the market were either packed with grains and fillers or consisted of chews and jerky made for dogs and rebranded for cats (as if cats are just smaller dogs!).
On top of that, most available toppers were rejected by our cats, whom we primarily feed home cooked meals.
One thing led to another, and we realized two big things: our cats (and other cats we tried with) go absolutely crazy for freeze-dried treats and dehydrated whole food toppers blend seamlessly into their daily meals without any drama.
Every treat and topper we make at Chompz follows three principles:

For a long time, we believed the common myth that “dry food or kibble will kill your cat” and carried the guilt of being bad cat parents if we fed them dry food. So we stuck to wet food and boiled chicken. But only feeding wet food was tough as it was super expensive, repetitive, and our cats eventually grew bored of it. This is where we realized our approach to feeding has to be more holistic & has to include different food formats, without burning a hole in our pockets.

Instead of asking cat parents to avoid dry food or overspend on alternatives, we decided to reinvent it by making it healthier, safer, and something we’d proudly feed our own cats.
